Vassar Brothers Medical Center's 5th Annual Breast Cancer Conference is a half-day course during which an expert faculty of clinicians at the forefront of the field will present a broad review of the management of women with Breast Cancer.

Learning Objectives

Following the completion of this conference, attendees should be able to:

  1. Analyze the effect of overweight and obesity on the risk of mortality
    among women with breast cancer

  2. Describe the process and purpose of genetic modification/engineering
    (GMO/GE) in foods

  3. Describe the benefits of exercise for the breast cancer patient

  4. Summarize recent advances in the development and clinical
    application of cancer immunotherapy in breast cancer

  5. Apply principles of critical thinking to screening recommendations from
    experts and peers in the radiological sciences, and other members of
    the breast care team

  6. Describe available clinical studies for young patients with breast
    cancer

  7. Learn advanced surgical techniques for performing oncology safe for
    nipple sparing and skin sparing mastectomies

  8. Identify the psychological, biological, and relational changes in 
    sexual self-esteem that result due to breast cancer diagnosis
    and treatment
