To formulate a PICO Question, follow this template:

P = Patient population - What patient population do you want to work with?

I = Intervention - What would you like to try or to change? 

C = Comparison - How does one intervention compare with another?

O = Outcome - What nursing care outcome are you trying to achieve?

T = Duration of the intervention - What is the timing of this intervention and how long might it last?
