Learning Objectives

Following the completion of this conference, attendees should be able to:

  1. To review treatment of hyperlipidemia in regard to use of novel agents
  2.  Describe new treatment protocols for traumatic cardiac emergencies.
  3.  Identify indications for TAVR and the technical requirements / contraindications of the procedure
  4.  Examine reasons for outpatient treatment failures and the use of devices such as Cardio MEMSTM
  5.  Describe case examples to highlight the role of echo, nuclear imaging and CT in the treatment of adults with cardiac disease
  6.  Review use of coronary angiography in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes and chronic stable angina.
  7.  To understand the growing use of MRI in patients with implantable device
  8.  To understand the role of anti-tachycardia pacing in patients with sustained ventricular tachycardia.
  9.  To review new directions and the use of  lead lists pacemaker therapy.
  10.  Discuss surgical indications for various types of cardiac and non-cardiac thoracic diseases as well as the natural history of these diseases
